Zombies are, reanimated from the dead by Zombie Virus, they are animated corpse and feed on raw meat of the living. Zombies have been a scourge on mankind for millienia and have been known by various names Draugr, Jiang shi, Rolang, Vetala, Craquehhe and many other names by various cultures throughout history. The word Zombie is derived from Nzumbe a word of west African origin.

Zombies are created from the corpses of human beings by the zombie virus They have very pale complexion and gray-clouded eyes and are mindless undead incapable of thought or reason. Zombies have no purpose other than to attack and feed on the flesh of living creatures although only humans and chimpanzees can be reanimated by the virus. zombies are, due to both brain damage and rigor mortis, slow moving at a shambling pace but they never tire. The virus spreads through bodily fluids the most common way this is done is a person being infected by a zombie's bite. The virus kills the infected person within 24 hours of infection and at the same time, altering the cells of the brain into new "necro cells"that reanimates the corpse as a zombie. Zombies decay slower than regular corpses taking 3 to 5 years to fully decompose depending on environment.however they can last longer in colder climates due to freezing temperatures preserving them. The only way to destroy a zombie is to either behead them or destroy the brain. The Zombie Virus first appeared around 60,000 years ago and ever since various outbreaks of this disease have occured throughout history all the way to the present day. there is no known vaccine or cure to stop infection, and research and spreading knowledge has been complicated by various political and religious organizations who have sworn to keep the virus and the undead monstrosities it creates a secret.When zombie attacks occur they are usually labelled as riots or "Violent insanity" and if the outbreak is large enough a chemical spill, landslide etc are used to explain the sealing off of a whole town. Most zombie outbreaks happen in tropical areas like countries in South America, Africa, and Asia However they can start virtually anywhere as nearly every culture on earth has had outbreaks at some point in time. Although zombies are mindless the fact that the virus can spread through a highly populated area quickly under the right conditions make zombies one of the most hazardous viral monster threats.
